Pumpkin Patch and Farewells

This weekend was such a fun weekend. But of course I think any weekend is great when I get to go back home to Benson! We kicked off the weekend by leaving for Benson late Friday night. My family was at the Gaslight Theater so we weren't in a rush to get to Benson. Saturday morning we got up and enjoyed some delicious pumpkin pancakes and buttermilk syrup that my mom and I cooked (if anyone wants the recipe, they're both delicious!). Then Travis and Brooke came down (and the dogs, Lucy and Rosie) and we, along with my mom and dad went out to Willcox to Apple Annie's pumpkin patch. We went last year and thought it be fun to go again!

We took a while choosing our pumpkins but that's always the fun part. It was so hot though! I was surprised for this time of year. Then we went to the produce "barn" and we bought a 15 lb. banana squash (which I LOVE) and some homemade apple butter.
Then all of us enjoyed shaved ice and kettle corn. It's definitely a fun place to go with family, all ages.
That evening we went down to my aunt and uncle's to have "Fenn Tacos." A lot of my aunt Carrie's family was there along with the Fenn side since it was my cousin Marcus's mission farewell that Sunday.
Later that night we stayed up playing the card game "Up Up Down" with our family. The mission farewell was good. Our "Fenn" family sang "Lead Kindly Light" and I thought we did pretty good. But maybe I'm just biased. Then after church we had dinner again at Mark and Carrie's. Except this time there were about 100 people (or at least it seemed).
After getting away from the crowd we went back home and played some more Up Up Down and then my mom taught us how to play Speed Scrabble. Thanks Mom! It was fun!
So, it was a fun weekend. Jeremy was there at home too. I love being with my family and being in Benson. The temperature was only about 55 but to us Mesa people it felt like it could snow! :o)

I Love Weddings!

On Friday, the 12th, Steven's good friend Loren got married and we were invited to the temple to be with them. The wedding ceremony itself was beautiful and it reminded me of when we got married. The spirit was very strong there as they were sealed. Afterwards we waited for them to come outside and hung around for pictures since Steven was one of the groomsmen. Unfortunately I had to go to class so I wasn't able to go to lunch afterwards but Steven had fun!
Later that evening we drove out to Buckeye to go to the reception. Steven just stood in a reception line most of the time and I kind of got drafted into the kitchen but it was good because it gave me something to do! After a long and exhausting night, we finally drove home.
Hopefully we'll get to spend more time now with Loren and Kylie now that they're together! They're a great couple and we're happy for them!

Evil Toilet

So, I must not have very good luck with "technology". While on our vacation to California in August, I lost my new 30 GB ipod. I was running across the street with my backpack on and when we got down to the beach I noticed my ipod was not in the backpack, where I had put it. So I thought "I must not have put the ipod in the backpack, it's probably in the car." So, after a long day at the beach we got up to the car and to my disappointment, no ipod. We searched and searched (well, Steven did :o) and...nothing.
So then today I was getting ready for school and I had my phone and the bathroom counter because Steven usually calls when I'm getting ready in the morning so I had it there ready for his call. Anyway, I moved some of my hair products and heard a "plop!" and it was one of those times where I knew what had happened but was just praying that when I looked in the toilet, my phone would NOT be there. However, it was, just sitting there at the bottom of the bowl.
It was clean water...so I reached in, grabbed it out and immediately started drying it but, once again to my disappointment, the phone would not turn on. It would just vibrate, whether the phone was on or off. AND I had only had this brand new phone for about...2 weeks.
So, on my way to the alltel store today I thought I'd try turning it on again, just for kicks and it worked! The screen is a little dark but thank goodness it works!

Things We're Looking Forward To!

Well, we figured we'd never been to the Arizona State Fair so we decided we'll go this year! I'm really excited. I don't know about Steven. I don't think he likes roller coasters or rides...I do so he can stand and watch! :o)
On November 17th we're going to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Concert which I am sooo excited for! My mom took me for my 17th birthday and it was an amazing concert. I definitely recommend it. There's about 12 of us going (family, friends) so it'll be fun.
Then, the next week we'll be flying to Utah to spend Thanksgiving with my sister, Amy who lives in South Jordan. Last year we DROVE Thanksgiving night to spend a few days with her. We're going to attempt to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Then we'll probably go to the Salt Lake temple and look at lights and do all the fun Utah stuff!
So, those are just a few things we're looking forward to. We'll be sure to post pictures!

It's a Good Life

I've been wanting to update our blog but haven't really had anything new or exciting happen or any new pictures but I'll write anyway.
Yes, we're still just working and going to school. Steven works about 10-11 hours everyday in addition to going to school 3 days a week. I don't know how he does it sometimes. He still works for UOP and although it may not be the best job, it works for us right now!
I'm just practicing the piano and studying music like crazy. It's a ton of work but I love it. Sometimes school doesn't even feel like school, which is a good thing. It just gives me an opportunity to go and do what I love. My favorite class right now it my chamber piano class. All we do it practice a duet with someone in our class for a few weeks and then perform for whoever wants to come listen. It's fun :o)
Steven and I have been married for over 8 months now! It feels like just yesterday we got married...We're still having fun and can't wait to see each other at the end of each day. :o)
Anyway, like I said, I didn't really have anything to write about--Just wanted to keep everyone up to date!
