I Want This

So, last night Steven and I went to the state fair (I'll post about that later) but while we were there we watched the demonstration for the Vita-Mix. I've heard about these a hundred times before, they're always in Costco, and my parents and grandparents have one but I've never actually watched the demonstration. I did and I want one SO bad. They're amazing!

In the time we stood there, the guy made us a fruit smoothie (just fruit, nothing else, no juice, nothing), snow cone ice in 2 seconds, peanut butter from honey-roasted peanuts, ice cream, powdered sugar from straight sugar, wheat flour from...wheat (duh). Everything was delicious and I love the fact that it's all natural.

It took everything in us not to buy one right then and there. You can do so much with it. You can even make hot soup because the blades spin so fast and create heat. Amazing. I'm hooked and can't wait until we've saved enough to buy one because we're going to!The downside is they're $450. But they last forever. We had one guy walk by us who has had his for 40 years and never had to replace anything. They have a 2.2 horsepower motor in them. Crazy stuff. We'll have a party when we get ours and you're all invited.

Pictures

So I've been a little lazy when it comes to uploading my pictures onto my computer from my camera so some of these are a little late. The oldest ones are at the bottom.

Last weekend we went down to Benson to give my mom her piano back. She's let me have for the past two years and with us moving into a new apartment, upstairs, I didn't want to be responsible for hers...so...we're getting a new one! I found a black one that I love that I think we're going to get but we'll see. Anyway, on Saturday morning we got up and drove out to Willcox for the annual pumpkin picking at Apple Annie's. This year Clarice and Jaron came with us. It was kind of windy (my hair is in my face in ALL the pictures) but we had fun.

Me, Darlene, and Clarice--bridesmaids in my cousin Dresden's wedding
Hiking Camelback Mountain! We're actually going again in a few hours here..Steven with his mission president and his wife at the mission reunion (conference weekend)

Anyway, kind of random but I needed to post them!

He's Here!

My brother Travis and his wife Brooke had their baby yesterday at 2:02. He weighed in at 7 lbs 12 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. They named him Carson Brent Fenn. He is so stinkin' cute and tiny. I love him so much already and can't wait to see what he looks like when he's a little bit older. He already has lots of dark hair and big brown eyes.

I was lucky to be able to go see him at the hospital and stay for 3 1/2 hours! Brooke and Travis are going to be such good parents, you can already tell. Apparently Brooke was a real trooper during the pregnancy. She said it was really easy. She only pushed for 30 minutes! Go Brooke! We love you!

This picture isn't very clear because I took it on my cell phone but he's still adorable.

Fireproof

For those of you who haven't seen my sister-in-law Brooke's blog and already read this, you definitely need to go see this movie. We had heard a lot of good things about it from a lot of different people so for our date night last night we went and ate at Cracker Barrel (never been there but what I had was DELICIOUS! Peach pancakes) Anyway, then we went and saw it.

Yeah, some parts were really cheesy and the acting was pretty bad but the message it had was great! It's mainly for married couples but could be for those considering marriage as well. It's very rare that you walk away from a movie feeling good and having a desire to do better.

It's too bad it's not advertised more because it's something everyone needs to see, even if you think your marriage is doing fine.

Thanks to those who recommended it to us!

Quirks

Okay, so pretty much all I do at work is look on blogs and then do "tags" even if I wasn't tagged because I get sooo bored. This is one I got from Natalie--thanks :)
1. I hate paint on fingernails and NEVER paint my fingernails. I just don't like the way it looks

2. I'm with Natalie on this one--I hate being late and thus am never late. I will be sooo grumpy if we're late somewhere. I'd rather be 20 minutes early than a minute late to something.

3. I love Jeeps, any type of Jeep: wrangler, commander, Cherokee, you name it, I love it!

4. I hate steak unless it's Flank marinated for days in Toshida's marinade from Costco (it may be other places too). If it's not that, I won't eat it. Period. I think steak is bland and chewy and just nasty.

5. I can't wear socks to bed no matter how hard I try. Give me about 2 seconds and I'll go crazy, tearing them off my feet.

6. I love beans-- of any kind. I especially love Rosarita refried beans. I could eat them from the can, cold.

7. I like rats--pet rats that is. Our family grew up with them as pets and I had 3 when I was in high school that slept in my room with me. I'd let them crawl all over me! When I walked into the room they'd hang on to their cage and get so excited like a baby does with his/her crib bars. I want some when I have a house. They make great pets!

8. I HATE having my blood pressure taken, in addition to being deathly afraid of needles and all that. I hate when I can feel my pulse really strong--it grosses me out!

9. I can't drink milk unless it's with a breakfast food or with a dessert. Having it at dinner or lunch or just with "regular" food is disgusting to me. I used to not drink it period.

10. I love roller coasters but it's like pulling teeth trying to actually get me ON the ride. Once I'm on, I have a blast.

I tag anyone who wants to do this too!

Busy Life

I haven't really had any big events that have happened that are blog worthy but I'll just do a quick update on our life!
We have been soo busy lately! We both get home around 5, eat dinner, gym/running and then any homework and then bed. That's about all we have time for these days. We're usually in bed by 9 or 9:30 every night. It's great for me because I don't have to get up until 6:45!
The week of conference (Tuesday) we decided to drive up to Utah for Steven's mission reunion. We drove straight through Thursday night, hung out with my sister, went to the reunion and drove home Sunday morning. It was probably the most miserable trip of our lives! I was sick as a dog and so we stopped about 15 times for me to throw up. Yeah...not fun. But it was a nice little getaway and the weather up there was great!

On Saturday we went and hiked Camelback and it was lots of fun. The weather was PERFECT and I really enjoyed the hike. I wouldn't mind doing it a few times a week if anyone would like to join me! Early mornings or evenings. Anyway, that night my parents came over since they were in town and my mom and I went and spent a few hours at Hobby Lobby (my new favorite store) and then Travis and Brooke came over too so we all hung out. I love spending time with my family. They always make me laugh!

Sunday afternoon we went out to Steven's parents for dinner. His sister Alli and her husband were down from Holbrook so we all just hung out and ate!

Other than that nothing too exciting. We're getting ready to move out in a couple of weeks and are very excited about that! We're looking for a new piano so if anyone has an upright, console piano that they're wanting to sell, let us know! I'm kind of picky with my pianos so I can't guarantee we'll buy it! :o)

Anyway, that's all for now. I do have a few pictures but I'm at work and my camera is at home so...maybe later! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this BEAUTIFUL fall weather and season! We sure are!

We're Moving!

Okay, so we're only going to a different apartment (still in the same complex) but I'm I'm excited! Right now we're in a 1 bedroom 1 bath and we wanted a little bit more space and a change so we went apartment searching, thinking we'd leave our complex and our AWESOME ward. We found one we really liked but decided just to see what we could get at our complex...so, we did and we got the 2 bedroom 2 bath, with a washer and dryer for $4 more than we're paying right now!! So...we decided to stay! We're changing apartments at the end of this month. Now if anyone wants to come visit, we'll have an extra bedroom for you to stay in!
