Baby Mackenzie!

My brother Josh and his wife, Trish had their baby yesterday! Her name is Mackenzie Rhyan Fenn and I think she weighed 7lbs. 3 oz and was 18.5 inches long. I'm SOO excited to go out and see them today. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and post them later! Congratulations to Josh and Trish!

Well, I have not taken a stab at doing a post yet. I am too afraid of messing it up, saying something stupid, or just having nothing to say. Well...I think I have overcome my fears. Why do I think i have? Because I'm on here writing. Well here it goes! Wish me luck!

Over the weekend we had a great opportunity to go up to my grandma Benich's house and spend time with a lot of my family. It was her 80th birthday. Before we left we found out there was going to be a long delay were we to take I-17 straight to Cornville so we decided to head up through Payson, Pine, and Strawberry, wonder on back to the 17 and then go up to Cornville. Withing 15 minutes of driving up the 87 we noticed some road construction vehicles and our lane slowly disappeared and we were forced into 1 lane of traffic. I thought we were doomed to be in one lane all the way to Payson but luckily it only lasted for a few miles.

As we continued our 3 hour trip to a place only about 2 hours away the temperature dropped and the desert disappeared. We were soon up in Payson enjoying the view of the beautiful mountains and the smell of pine trees. I would love to live in a mountain town sometime in my life. It's so peaceful! Except for in the middle of the night when the bears and wolves come out and try to eat you! That's scary!

Anyway, it was very peaceful being able to drive up through the mountains. and go to Cornville. When we arrived we were just hung out with some family that I have not seen in a long time and enjoyed their company. Everybody is growing and having babies and everything...maybe i'm the one that's baby hungry now! My mom made my grandma an awesome looking quilt on behalf of all the kids and she liked it! my cousin Karen made some pozole and I brought some home to enjoy during the week.

Body For Life

I've been contemplating whether or not I was going to tell people about this but I figured it would be a good idea. Steven and I started a new program called Body for Life. We did the exercise portion a bit last year but didn't follow the meals and everything real well. On Saturday night we finally decided it was time to change. We eat pretty healthy right now but we wanted to do better and be more committed. So, we committed to taking the Body for Life Challenge! We started on Monday and ordered all of our nutrition supplements and got all of our food for the week. We figured we wanted to look good for our triathlon in May. We won't be done with the challenge until June but it still gives us a good start. We are so excited and want everyone to know because we figured if people know, it'll give us more motivation to finish and do well. We took our "before" pictures and maybe after our program I'll post so you can see the difference (hopefully there will be one!). Anyway, if you're interested go to www.bodyforlife.com. It's so amazing to see the transformations people have undergone. I get on the website everyday just to stay motivated and am always blown away at the pictures. I'm so excited to be doing this and I know it'll be a challenge but a good one. I've already learned so much about proper eating and exercising and trust me, I've read just about everything there is to read on Body-For-LIFE and their products. :o) It's nice because on Sunday we have a "free day" so we can eat whatever we want and we won't go crazy. And to top it off, there's one grand champion that gets $25000 and a bunch of other stuff and then 6 winners who get $10000 and the same good stuff. So we'll definitely try for that! We're competing individually and as a couple-WISH US LUCK!!

I was 10 years old so I probably would have been in 6th grade, hanging out with Kelsey and all the Pomerene kids who would get to together almost every Friday night to play "night" games and ride 4-wheelers. I think I had just started my first piano lessons...or maybe i was still teaching myself. Anyway, fun times--I loved the Pomerene School days!

What I Would Do If I Were Suddenly Made a Billionaire:

Put Steven and I both through school without taking out student loans, buy a house, buy a grand piano, travel the world, adopt, hire someone to do all my laundry :o) get my hair done and make-up done professionally once in a while, buy a whole new wardrobe, save, invest, decorate my house in all Pottery Barn :o)

3 of My Bad Habits:

I don't to laundry because I have enough clothes to last me a lifetime but Steven doesn't so he ends up doing the laundry and then I just throw mine in while he's doing it...might as well :o)
2. I don't practice the piano enough
3. I'm a procrastinator on most things. Not as bad as I was in high school but I still do now and again.

5 Things People Don't Know About Me:

-I'm an organized freak. My clothes have to be all color-coordinated, everything in baskets or the right drawers and nothing out of place. I have to write everything down on paper and organize it or have a folder for it.
-I'm paranoid about spelling and grammar, especially when using texts. I will not use "lol" or "brb". I have to spell every word out and have all the correct punctuation.
-I could eat at La Parilla Suiza everynight just to have their chips and salsa and bean burritos.
- My dream job would be to work at Sea World
-I've never had a broken bone

He Knows Me All Too Well...

So the other day Steven was at Costco and called home and said "I think I found something you'll like." So, I said, "well you can buy it and if I don't like it, you can always return it!" So then a few minutes go by and he calls back and says he found something else he wants to buy, he said he was in a "Meghan-buying mood" so naturally, I just went along with it :o) Anyway, the second thing was a couch which we DIDN'T get...yet ;o). The first thing was this adorable dinnerware that he had when he walked in the door. I know I already have square white plates and red ones too but I just couldn't pass these up. They go better than our red plates we bought. So...we'll keep them until we need them. Can never have too many plates right? :o)

N'SYNC

So, I just know Steven's going to kill me for writing this blog but I couldn't help it. This morning I was uploading songs to my computer from my cds and wanted some upbeat music for when I'm working out and i came across my N'SYNC cd and of course, I put it on my iPod! Then when I was running Bye Bye Bye came on and it made me laugh. I started thinking back to the "N'SYNC days" when my friends and I were CRAZY about them. We had posters, books, videos, went to the concert, rings, chapstick, you name it. I don't think I could even see Elsa's walls in her room :o) I also remember Clarice and I begging our moms to let us get those little players that McDonalds had at one time. They only played one song but we got the N'SYNC one and listened to it over and over again. I remember taking it to school--that was before MP3 players or iPods of course. Anyway, it was fun time. We'd even have parties where it'd be all about N'SYNC--we'd stay up watching a recorded concert and dance and all that good stuff. Yeah, it's cheezy now but it's fun to look back and remember the good times. I even remember teaching my older brother Jeremy and his friends (for those of you who know, Caleb, Cory, Bridger, Wesly :o) the dance to It's Gonna Be Me. Anyway, just a little shoutout to N'SYNC and anyone who was ever madly in love with one of them. Hope it's not Lance because now he's gay.

Books, Books, Books!

I LOVE books! And I love to read so when my parents mentioned there was a used bookstore in Benson, I was excited to go. We probably spent a good hour at least looking through old used books. I wanted to buy everything but knew it wasn't realistic and knew I couldn't from the looks Steven was giving me :o). I want to have a library someday when I'm older so I'm starting my collection now. I also want my kids to enjoy reading as much as I do. My mom always read to us from the moment we were born.
Anyway, I got short stories of Nathaniel Hawthorne, Jane Eyre, The Jungle, two volumes of Shakespeare, Two Years Before the Mast--all hardback and then I got a baby name book since i love looking at names and Steven got some workout books and we got it all for $28! Oh, I also got Life's Imponderables which is just a fun book that answers life's questions (why are yawns contagious? etc.) it's a fun bathroom reader :o)
My parents got 35 books for $59. With both of them being school teachers, they love books and love to read and are always looking for more books to take to their classrooms. They're awesome teachers! That's definitely one thing I admire about my parents is even though it's a low-paying job, they love their work and love the kids. I know they wouldn't trade the feelings they get from helping kids for anything in the world.
Anyway, I think the first book I tackle will be The Jungle. I read most of it in high school but was a procrastinator and finished the rest on Cliffnotes :o)
