The Lion King!

We just bought tickets for The Lion King! I'm so excited. It's coming to Gammage in January and I got a promotion code and was able to go on and buy tickets in advance. I've always wanted to go to this and now we get to! My mom and hopefully dad (if we can get him to come) are coming as well.

My New Personal Blog

I made a new blog for myself, Meghan. It's different from this blog and you'll see why. I've made it private because of some of the personal information I'll have on there so send me your email to meghanfenn@hotmail.com and I'll add you as a reader. The address for this blog is meghanshealth.blogspot.com

* Some of you may think this is something very personal or may be a little nervous to see what it is but all it is, is a record of my fitness and health to keep me motivated and have support from family and friends! No need to worry! It is completely appropriate. I just don't want random people reading it.

I love to Read

Recently I've picked up reading again. All my life I've loved to read and once I got married it seemed like I never had time to read but now that I have 9 hours a day to just sit and do nothing, I decided to start reading! So far I've read:

A Painted House

The Da Vinci Code

Life of Pi

The Kite Runner

Breaking Dawn

Now I'm starting Angels & Deamons and Modoc. I tried reading The Bell Jar but just couldn't get into it. If anyone has any suggestions on what to read next, let me know! I would love some suggestions!

Changes...Or Not

So, for the past couple weeks I've been debating going back to work at the University of Phoenix just because of better pay, benefits, same schedule as Steven, free schooling, etc. So, while I was in Utah I got a call saying they wanted to hire me, I faxed them all the new hire paperwork, yada yada, yada. I told my work I was leaving and I was supposed to start this Monday (08-18). Yesterday, Friday, was supposed to be my last day at Abstrax but I just didn't feel right leaving...I really didn't want to but I just couldn't pass up the benefits at UOP. So, I went into my boss and said, "I want to stay here but I'll be getting a lot more (benefits, pay, etc) at UOP." So, after some talking, he gave me some incentives (they really wanted me to stay too) and agreed to help out with school and some other things so...I'm staying after all! I felt really good about it after I made the decision and needless to say, they were happy too.
I have to admit I am going to miss a few things about not working at UOP--same manager, more people, etc. but I know this is the right thing for me right now. Funny how things work!

Trip to Utah

The Friday after we came home from camping (08-08-08) I flew up to Utah to see my only sister Amy. We try to get up to see her at least once a year and sometimes she comes down here. We had a good time just hanging out and catching up on stuff. We get along so well and I'm lucky to have such a great sister. We saw Mamma Mia (loved it) and did LOTS of shopping. I barely fit everything coming back home. We watched about as much of the Olympics as we could. Almost too much! (Steven and I got cable just for the Olympics--then, it's gone)
I also got to spend time with my cousin Dresden who is my age and getting married. We worked on her announcements and I got to try on my bridesmaid dress.
Anyway, I stayed until Tuesday night and with mixed feelings, came home. And once again, no pictures. We just simply forgot to take them. I had fun and it was great getaway. Now it's back to the grind.

A Lot to Catch Up On!! First Off--Camping!

I have been so horrible when it comes to blogging lately! And I have a lot to catch up on. Two weeks ago we went camping with Steven's family up near Williams. Steven and I were kind of arguing about when to leave because Breaking Dawn was coming out that Friday night and I wanted to leave Saturday so I could go get it at Midnight. Well, Steven's mom came to the rescue and said the girls who were already camping were going to drive into Flagstaff that night to get it and we could just meet them there after driving up after work...So, that's what we did--kind of. They ended up not meeting us there so Steven got to sit in line with me for, oh, 3 hours :o) It was fun though and we finally got the book. Steven said I couldn't start it until we were home from camping because it was "family" time but we bought it for his sister Alli, whose birthday was that Sunday so when she started to read it..I did (thanks for saving me Alli!) Anyway, we had tons of fun just playing games and sitting around talking. I enjoyed spending more time with Steven's extended family and getting to know them. They're a fun bunch! The weather was a bit warm during the day but other than that it was gorgeous. It even rained a few times which was nice just because it cooled things down and settled the dirt. Steven and I DID not want to come home just because it was so relaxing and we weren't thinking about anything. I WOULD post pictures but I'm a dork and accidentally deleted almost all of our camping pictures. Usually as soon as I have new pictures I upload them to the computer right away and the other day I was looking through our camera going, "I have a ton of pictures on here--I need to delete some." So, I started deleting all the camping pictures when I realized I hadn't put them on the computer yet...Arg.
Anyway, I have maybe 5 or 6 so I'll upload those when I get home (we're in Benson right now and I don't have my computer cord)

A Short Trip to Marana

On Saturday we drove down to Marana to spend some time with Steven's brother, Chris and his family. We're definitely NOT used to being around kids--Steven was worn out within the first few minutes of being there! :o) We had lots of fun playing the wii with the boys and just hanging out. We ordered pizza later that night and then headed back home. We definitely need to get down there more to see our nephews! They're too much fun! Here are some pictures. Travis and Wesley and I had a little photo shoot. The boys playing the Wii
We took so many pictures! I wasn't even trying either. Wes just said, "here, take one of my like this." It made me laugh.
Travis tried doing the same thing but couldn't quite get his fingers right.
Chunky Nathan

Kati had them sing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for me and then every time I held the camera up after that, they'd start singing it again. Funny boys.

This video cracked me up because Travis was trying to help Wesley but he doesn't seem to help, more hurt. Wesley was fine of course. There must have been something on the floor because they kept falling down there.
