Palm Springs

Well, after two fun-filled days at the beach we headed for warmer weather: Palm Springs. Steven and I had never been there and my Uncle Michael has a condo out there and was nice enough to let us stay out there. So, we figured, what the heck, we'll give it a shot. It was hot but relaxing. We didn't do much except relax, swim in the pool and walk down the main street. Saturday morning we got up earlier than usual and went for a bike ride. The weather was perfect and it was a nice ride. Later that day we decided to take the Aerial Tramway up San Jacinto mountain. I never knew it was an "aerial" tramway. There I was thinking it was a nice little tram that wound up around the mountain. Little did I know that I'd be hanging from a few not-so-large cables in a "cab" that has a rotating floor. And little did I know I'd be hanging hundreds of feet up in the air. So needless to say, I was a little bit nervous and as Steven made clear, very white. Often times I felt like we were falling and by the screams of the 50+ people in there with me (I tried, very un-prejudice-like to get with all thin people), I think they felt it too. Once we got to the top, we enjoyed an ice cream cone (probably not the best thing for my stomach after such a ride). The weather had dropped about 40 degrees and for that we were all grateful. I actually would recommend it. It was fun even though it was a bit nerve-wracking! Anyway, I don't think I'll be moving to Palm Springs any time soon but it was a nice getaway. Above are some pictures from our trip!

I'm so glad you two went up the tram! Megan you make the tram sound like a magic mountain ride, it really isn't that bad. You have been on flat ground way too long. Although it was hot I'm glad you rode the bikes, don't you just love our Townies? You looked so cute on Bonnie's. There's nothing nicer than an early, early morning ride in PS. Now you have experienced what we love so much about PS, bike rides, swimming, shopping, and the beauty of the mountains at your feet. Next time come out in cooler weather and we can take in some really great hiking. I love the black and white photos, they're so Palm Springs! Thanks for including us in your CA getaway and hurry back soon.
Love Michael
