Steven and I were both lucky enough to have the day off so on Sunday night we drove out to his parents, spent the night and the next morning drove up to the Wildlife World Zoo. On the way, we called Trish to see if her and Braden wanted to come out too! And they did! We had fun walking around and the weather was perfect. We'd never been before and I don't know if I'd go back but it was a fun one-time thing. There were LOTS of birds and lemur things and then a few fun animals that were all asleep and not wanting to be disturbed. Afterwards we went out to Josh and Trisha's and watched some episodes of the office (ugh) and then had dinner when Josh came home. It was fun spending time with our family and it was great to finally get home!
There are a ton of pictures here.

Monopoly Kick
As many of you married couples without children know, sometimes there's just nothing to do, especially when you don't want to spend money. Steven and I found ourselves in this same situation Friday night so after a lot of "so, what do you want to do?" "I don't know..." We went and bought some milk (fun!) and then went to Wal-Mart and bought Monopoly. I don't think I've ever actually finished an entire game of it but this weekend we've already played 3 times! We stayed up late Friday night (which is a major achievement for me if I can get Steven to stay up past 9:30!) playing and then played on Saturday as well. Steven felt he had to redeem himself since I kicked his rear in our first round. But...he kicked mine in the 2nd so we had best 2 out of 3 and needless to say...I won. We're a bit Monopoly-ed out so it'll probably be a while until we play again. I think our next purchase will be Battleship...:o)
Crockpot Face
So, I think this is ridiculous but Steven wanted me to take a picture of our crockpot. We made ribs last Sunday and the barbeque sauce stuck to the side of the crockpot like no other. I had it soaking it hot water constantly until Thursday, trying to scrub it off a little bit at a time and FINALLY got it all cleaned yesterday. Anyway, one of the days I was scrubbing it, I found a face in the burnt barbeque sauce! It almost looks like a lion or something...I don't know. It's silly but here it is. See if you can find it (it's not that hard but now you're going to feel stupid if you can't find it :o)

Back To School
It's that time again...school! I've enjoyed our break so much that it's been really hard to go back to school but I know it has to be done sooner or later! Steven has a class at UOP and we're taking a computer class together at MCC so that should be fun! I'm actually excited to go to school with my husband. I currently don't have a job so I just have school but I have quite a heavy load. 16.5 credits again...it'll probably be that way for the next couple years. However, instead of piano, I'm taking all voice classes which should be fun. I have choir, voice lessons, studio voice, theory, aural perception, a conducting class, the computer class, and a communications online course! Hopefully we'll make it through the semester!
Well, amidst all the school hustle and bustle I have our one year anniversary to look forward to. I still don't know what we're doing because Steven won't tell me but I think I have an idea. I'm just excited to get away from everything here and have some time to ourselves. It's been such a great year and I've learned so much. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life!

Our New Table
Well, we decided it was time to invite some family over for dinner and then we realized we weren't going to have enough chairs so we decided it was time to buy a new table! I've been wanting this one table for a while now but we were just waiting to see what else there was. We checked
around at Levitz furniture since they're going out of business but didn't see anything we liked so we went back to Arizona Mills and finally just bought the table. I LOVE it! We called up my brother Travis and being the wonderful brother he is, came with his truck to pick up our table (even though he and Brooke were about to leave on a date....sorry guys!) Steven and I still had the leaf and were just going to put it in our car so Travis and Brooke left to go back to the apartment. We thought we had parked just right around the corner but...we hadn't. It felt like we were a mile away and Steven was so mad! But we just kept laughing because here we were carrying a table leaf through the mall parking lot. I just had to get a picture.
Anyway, the table looks HUGE in our apartment (we'll probably only put the leaf in when we have company) but hopefully it'll look better someday in a house.

I know it's past New Year's but I finally got my pictures put onto my computer. I'll have to say this New Year's was different from other one's I've experienced. Normally I'm hanging out with friends or family at the house or elsewhere but this year Steven and I went with his good friend Loren and his wife Kylie out to the desert to burn Christmas trees. Apparently this has been a tradition among Buckeye families for some time. We drove as far as our little Corolla could make it and then hopped in a truck to drive the remainder of the way. We just hung out for the rest of the time. There were probably about 60 people there and they had dutch ovens going with cobbler, corn bread, and potatoes. They also had a huge grill put over the fire for people to cook their meat on. Once everyone started throwing their huge steaks on their, Steven got a little embarrassed as the size of our steaks (we cut ours into strips). Anyway, it was hilarious seeing this because Steven rarely gets embarrassed and especially over food. It was probably just because he was out with "the guys" and wanted to look good :o) Anyway, I think our steak turned out to taste the best. After dinner we took the 4-wheeler out and then later on, the jeep (the one all the guys went crazy about...don't know what it is with guys and their toys).
Towards the end of the night (9:00) they decided it was time to head out, but before we did we burned some Christmas trees. We had to stand back probably 30 feet because it was so hot. It was a fun night but I'm sad we didn't stay up for New Year's! We were so tired we fell asleep as soon as we got to Steven's parents house. On New Year's Day, Steven and I along with his mom, brother and sister drove up to the exciting town of Yarnell to visit his great-grandpa and grandparents. We just enjoyed spending time with family and after that, we drove home!
