Well, we can't believe it's already been one year. It seems like just yesterday we were at the temple. It's been such a great year and we've grown so much together and learned a TON about each other. We were just saying this weekend that you really don't know who you marry. :o) Well, to celebrate Steven took me up to a cabin in Flagstaff for the weekend. This is something I've always wanted to do and he surprised me (and remembered that I wanted to do it :o) and took me up there. We had our own cabin tucked away in the woods. There were some other cabins around but it was still nice. There was lots of snow on the ground which was exciting and nice to have a change. On Friday night we went out to Oregano's and got pizza and then came home and watched lots of TLC and Discovery Channel since we don't have tv here at home. On Saturday (our anniversary, 26th) we just hung out, ate lots of junk food and enjoyed not having anything to do. We went for quite a drive south of Flagstaff just enjoying the beautiful scenery and tranquility of it all.
We barbequed and even went sledding. It was Steven's first time and quite hilarious actually. I went down first and seriously thought, "This is it, I'm going to die" I was screaming the whole way down but it was fun afterwards. I started out sitting up but at the bottom was completely sprawled out. Steven didn't quite make it all the way down...he kind of flipped halfway. Don't worry, I got it all recorded. We only made a few runs because we weren't exactly dressed for it and our hands were FREEZING. Anyway, later that night Steven took me out to dinner and that was nice.
Sunday morning we woke up and looked outside and it was snowing! I was so excited I ran around opening all the blinds so I could see it. We tried to leave as soon as possible though so we didn't get snowed in. I don't think the corolla would do too well. Anyway, it was a fun little getaway. Thanks Steven for taking me! I loved it. And I love you!
P.S. I recommend renting a house/cabin/condo instead of staying at a hotel. There's so much more room and it's clean and fully furnished. Definitely more comfortable. Anyway, here are some pictures!
And as promised, our sledding videos:
