Valentine's Day...

To be honest, I really don't look forward to Valentine's Day. It's a day where things are "expected" to be given or done (flowers, chocolate, candle-lit dinner, etc.) and I don't think things really come from the heart. It's especially hard for us having our anniversary 2 1/2 weeks before where we get to do all that mushy, lovey-dovey, heart-to-heart stuff. So...needless to say we took it pretty easy this V-Day.
Of course we had the normal school and work and then of course I had a wonderful dentist appointment to go to. I probably haven't had my teeth cleaned in 4 or 5 years (gross!) and now I remember why. I hate people poking my gums and pulling every which way on my mouth. But I think the absolute worst part was when they were scraping everything off and it sounded like taking a metal fork and scraping it across a glass plate...I kept getting chills the entire time. It was horrible.
Anyway...I came home and had TWO bouquets of flowers waiting for me that Steven had brought home on his lunch break :o) So sweet. Then, Steven and I hit Texas Roadhouse as soon as he got home from work because we didn't want to deal with the rush of everyone going out to eat on Valentine's Day. Good thing we did too. When we went inside the restaurant we got in right away (3:30), at 4:30 when we came out there were probably 50 people waiting outside. So we came home, relaxed and then made and decorated sugar cookies. Making cookies is fine but after decorating about two cookies, I'm done. Steven felt the same way--good thing we only halved (sp?) the recipe. Here are some pictures of the cookie-making process and my flowers.

You think maybe he didn't want his picture taken? ;o)

I love this flower!

Adorable cookies! Looks like fun! I made some chocolate truffle things that didn't look, or probably taste, near as good as those do!
