We checked into our hotel and got settled in for the night. Monday came and we were up and ready to go to Disneyland and California Adventure just about as soon as it opened (8am). We spent the whole day running from ride to ride and having a blast. We got SOAKED on Splash Mountain and that kind of put a damper on things because we were wet-shoes, hair, jeans, you name it. So...we went back to our room ($4 shuttle took us back and forth all day) and took a nap, ate lunch and then headed back for more fun! I was sooo excited for that night because we were going to be eating at the Blue Bayou (restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean). Anyway, we finally got and in and were seated and were handed the menu. I seriously wanted to cry because there were like 10 things to choose from and I wanted NONE of them. I was sooo mad. I finally settled on short ribs, Steven with the shrimp Jambalaya. The ribs were TERRIBLE and Steven's jambalaya was too spicy. Just about the only thing I liked were the rolls. I was seriously so mad and will NEVER eat there again.
Anyway, Tuesday came. Tuesday was better because we'd already hit all the rides so we weren't so concerned about getting around to everything. We just did rides over and if it was California Screaming we did it over...and over...and over again. Absolute favorite ride! We enjoyed corn dogs, whipped pineapple juice and churros! Everytime we passed a churro stand Steven would be there with his $3.00 waiting for one :) Anyway, the lines weren't bad at all, even on Monday. Tuesday night we went back to our hotel a little bit early (5:30) and went and ate at the Cheesecake Factory since it was right across from our hotel and I'd never been there and our dinner the night before was horrible so we were making up for it :). There was almost TOO much to choose from there. Once we got back to our hotel we turned on the tv so we could watch Biggest Loser :) We're dedicated...oh, and we did watch the inauguration before we left that morning.
Wednesday we checked out of our hotel and then headed over to the parks once again! We went on all the rides once again...ate more corn dogs...hoped it wouldn't rain any more than it already had (just sprinkles) and had fun!!
If we ever did it again I'd probably only do 2 days. 2 seems like just the right amount of time. We were mainly there on Wednesday just because we had already paid for the 3rd day (even though it's only $6 more than a 2-day when you buy it online). Anyway, we had so much fun! I never once thought about school or work or anything at home. We were kids again and loved every minute of it!
I love Disneyland and am so glad it was created. Everyone is so happy and I love how it's just a clean, good-feeling environment. You really do just get to step away from all the filth in the world and be young again. I got kind of emotional Monday night when we were watching the firework show and they quoted Walt Disney saying, " To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past... and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America... with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.
Here I am DURING Tower of Terror. It really wasn't that bad even though my face is telling you it was. If you look at my left hand (your right) you can see my hand gripping my seat belt. My hand was sore afterwards...
Pirates ride. I took some flash photography because we were in the back of the boat. Next time around someone else took a picture and someone came over the loud speaker telling them not to do it. Hehe
Kind of hard to see but it's in the Tiki Room. It was my first time in there. My mom scolded me for not ever going in. It was cute.
One of my favorite Star Wars characters: C3PO
Steven after splash mountain...not that bad. I think his shoes were wet
Meghan after splash mountain...very wet
Waiting for our shuttle to pick us up Monday morningSo excited to go to Disneyland :)
I have more pictures I still need to attach but I was getting impatient doing it last night so there are only a few here. More to come later.

Yay!!! I love Disneyland!! Scott grew up in Cali and we've gone back on occassion to visit his old friends and "family". We love doing the theme parks, especially now that we've got kids, it's so fun to watch the excitement on their faces!!
Glad you had such a fun Anniversary trip!!
I love the Tower of Terror pic (that ride literally made me cry...ok, not cry, but bawl like a baby) - we went to Disneyland on our honeymoon and had just as good as an experience. Good news to know that the restaurant at Pirates isn't good! I've always wanted to eat there too, but not any more! lol Can't wait to see more pics!
Why do you have to be so cute?! Everytime I look at pictures of you and your husband I can't help but think "They are so cute and she is gorgeous!" I was watching a movie last night with Scarlett Johansen and decided that you look like her. Don't worry I think you're cuter but you have similarities. Wow, you guys do fun stuff ALL THE TIME! It makes me a little jealous that I'm having a baby and we won't be able to do stuff like that as easily as we can being just the two of us. To not sound too negative about the baby, I am excited for our little one and know that I will be content with him even though we can't do whatever whenever. I'm glad you guys got to go. It looked like fun!!
That's awesome that you guys had fun- but apparently you had a bad chef that night at the Blue Bayou :) Kyle and I had steak there and it was amazing- that's too bad!
This is steven...I bet the steak would have been good...Meghan's just not a fan of Seafood...or steak :o( My jambalaya wasn't terrible, just a bit too spicy and more so not what I expected. I expected more of a sauce over white rice...not everything mixed together. Ya know? Oh well...the atmosphere was romantic though!
