School, School, School

I wanted to do a post about how much I love school so that I can look at it when I'm frustrated and hating it :) No, I'm really enjoying school this semester. I love being in my degree and absolutely love what I'm learning.

I feel so fortunate to be able to go through this Exercise and Wellness degree. I wish EVERYONE could do it. The information is just amazing and I'm learning so much that is applicable to me and I know it will help my future family. I look forward to school everyday because the information is FUN. I haven't met many people who can say they LOVE their degree but I truly do love mine.

Don't get me wrong, I am very much looking forward to graduating and having a degree and getting the "required" degree out of the way!
I've been able to participate in some fun stuff already this semester. There are quite a few perks to being in this degree :)

The students in the Exercise Prescription class are required to develop a work-out program for someone and I get to do it AND I get extra credit for helping out. So, I was tested (body fat, measurements, all that good stuff) and based on my goals the student developed a work-out routine for me and will follow up with me throughout the semester. It's great having a personalized training program!

I also volunteered to help a grad student who is doing research on bone density. She's comparing what increases bone density more: vibration exercises or jumping exercises. I got put into the jumping group but I'm getting some great free stuff from it. I get my bone density measured, today I got to do the bod pod (calculates body fat and lean muscle), I also get a DEXA (scan of my bones) and quite a few other "tests". These are things I've always wanted to know and now I'm getting to have them done for free!

Anyway, that's some of the fun stuff I'm getting to do. I'm loving it and hopefully I'll be able to stay positive...it changes from day to day :)
