It's Steven!

Every single day I sign onto my gmail account, check my email, then my Mashable and Boy Genius, two tech blogs that I like to follow. I also check blogs...every day! Yes, I'm a blog stalker and guess what...nobody ever updates their blogs anymore except for Breezy, Alli, Dresden, and a few others every once-in-a-while. So, I decided that I should probably start posting and hopefully some of you who haven't posted will get back on board also. It's fun to see what's going on in everyone's lives. I don't have time to call everyone and talk so I think blogs and texting are the next best things. It helps the conversations when we are able to speak.

Anyway, I'm sure you all know this already, but we are going to be having a baby!

Yes, it's pretty exciting. We are really at a loss of what to expect. Too often we are hearing people say "get sleep while you can! Good luck going out to dinner, do it as much as you can right now! Enjoy some quiet time before the baby comes! There are also some other things that people say that make having a baby seem...very scary! However, the other day I was speaking with a student of mine who has a 6 month old baby. She didn't say any of those things. She said "You'll never forget the first time your baby smiles! Your baby will fall asleep in your arms and it's precious." She said some other things that really got me more excited about having a child. She even said all of those great things while her baby was crying in the background.

Hearing those words made me think of the power of positive thinking. I know...this is a random tangent, but I think it's important to look at the bright side of things. I realize that I will be more tired, have more headaches, and not be able to just leave for California or Mexico at a moment's notice, but, isn't it worth it???

I am excited for this new step in our lives! I love you Meghan! I love you little baby! (boy or girl :o) )

It's very very true :) Their first smile is the best too, because it lets you know that all the hard work and sacrifice you have done for them goes noticed :) I'm so excited for you guys and I know that you'll be one awesome Dad!

I have to say I am glad to know some people still like blogging. I loved when more people blogged. I love hearing and seeing how everyone is doing.

I am so excited for you and Meghan to have a baby. And people are right, you will be tired and it will be hard, blah, blah, blah.... but it is the best thing in the world. Even on the really hard, exhausting days. Even when your baby poos everywhere and you think your going to puke, your little baby will look up at you and smile while you are trying to clean it up and you will just laugh and think how beautiful your baby is and it won't even matter that it accidentally got on your hand(that happened yesterday, hense the recall of the story). It's a fun road and worth all the sleepless nights.

I have to pretty much echo what each commenter as already said. Especially "Breezy Skye" who just said it all. Parenting is definitely (according to the professionals..?) the hardest job you'll ever do and sometimes you want to cry and sometimes you think "what did we do?!" at 2:30 am when they're screaming just cuz they feel like they can't fall asleep unless they're in bed with you but it is the BEST thing in the world as well! Sometimes they do the most frustrating things and make messes everywhere but then you look at them for 2 seconds and your heart just softens with love as you look at their sweet little face. When they look so peaceful after falling asleep in your arms..it's priceless. Especially when their binkie falls out and they still make sucking motions. :-) It is all definitely very worth it. We are SO ecstatic for you two and your future new little addition!! You will be wonderful parents. Maybe it IS harder to find babysitters (esp last min) in order to have a couple hours as husband/wife vs mommy/daddy but make sure you keep good contact/friendship with other couples with babies or little ones and you'll find it easier to to switch offs cuz they'll know sometimes you need a break and vise versa. (hint hint.. ;-) )
