Thankful #6

I'm thankful for growing up in a small town. I learned more there and had more opportunities there than I think I would have had in a city. I was able to have a closer relationship with my teachers and classmates. Living in a small town forced us (friends, siblings) to be creative with our time. We weren't stuck inside all day--we could go ride bikes, take walks in the desert, have picnics, build forts out of tumbleweeds, swim in the pond, go camping, have bonfires, etc. I'm not saying these things can't be done in the city, it's just not always safe and there isn't as much room. I wouldn't trade growing up in Benson for anything. I love that everyone knows everyone and although it isn't always the best, everyone always knows everything about everyone.

I'm grateful for the friendships that I made there and for the good school I had. I would give anything to raise my children in a small town. :)

Okay so I'm a nerd and just realized that you're doing a thankful for every day of the month. That is sooo cool. What a good little tradition. If I decide to copy you I hope it's okay...
